Driving down the California highway in my company Tesla, feeling the wind in my hair, I remember feeling like I was on top of the world. Nothing could stop me, and my future was bright. Little did I know this feeling would quickly vanish as I found myself in the midst of my second divorce. . .

Despite my marriage dissolving, I found refuge in my career. As VP of Sales and Marketing for a Tech company in Silicon Valley, professionally speaking, I felt like I had ‘made it’. I was earning more money than ever before; I even had a company car, a Tesla that I named, Ghost. Thank God, I was even able to purchase an amazing home for me and my son. We had each other, and we would get through it.

Then, the floor came out from under me. The company I had put all of my faith in, suddenly folded. Now, I had no Tesla, no cushy salary, and a very big mortgage payment. Between the divorce and the job loss, I ended up losing the only sanctuary I had left in my life, my home.

Broken, I took some time to mourn the loss of my marriage and what felt like my career. But my father always raised me to, “get back on the horse” no matter what. So, I picked myself up by my bootstraps and began consulting. Though my clients were grateful for my contributions and rewarded me with referrals that kept me busy, I didn’t feel like I had achieved my true purpose. Let’s face it, contributing to a company’s faceless bottom line just doesn’t fill your heart with abundant joy.

Around the same time, two talented lash artist friends of mine enlisted my help, each wanting to start their own business. Now, these two were great at their craft, so I knew they had the talent to make it, they just had no idea how or where to start, and that is where I came in! Together we put together a killer business plan, and I provided them with a powerful marketing strategy, general business counseling, and a step-by-step roadmap to five figure months. Everything was all mapped out, now it was up to them to execute…

In the end, we scaled each of those businesses to six figures in just six months (I can now do it in 1/2 that time)! It was this success that filled my heart with true joy. I saw my friends’ lives transform before me. They were able to quit the 9-5 grind, and become successful, happy, fulfilled entrepreneurs. I still remember the tremendous pride I felt when my friend was able to purchase her first home and enjoy a comfortable and healthy lifestyle with the income her business generated. Thrilled with the impact I had made; I knew I was hungry for more. Who could have guessed that helping my friends would eventually show me my true calling; helping to cultivate a league of elite female lash artists that earn at least SIX FIGURES/year.
